Concerts of the Easter Period in the Cathedral in the Malaya Gruzinskaya street are full of joy, as they are due to be. Famous musicians and ensembles will contribute to create a festive atmosphere:
April 20 (Friday) Sacred music in Jazz by Duke Ellington will be presented by celebrated Russian performers and the VolgaOrchestra conducted by Pavel Novikov-Rastopnin.
April 21 (Saturday) The Chamber Choir of the St. Egidio Church (Germany) performs in the framework of the XI Moscow Easter Festival.
April 22 (Sunday) Masterpieces of vocal and organ baroque music.
April 25 (Wednesday) English court music. Organ music by outstanding royal composers is performed by Anna Karpenko.
April 27 (Friday) – Baroque mysteries for violin, flute and organ: F. Couperin, N. de Grigny, G. Ph. Telemann, J.S. Bach, A. Corelli, A. Vivaldi.
April 28 (Saturday) – The famous Claudio Monteverdi Choir (Budapest, Hungary) performs in the framework of the XI Moscow Easter Festival.
April 29 (Sunday) Two organs of the Cathedral sound together. This is a rare opportunity to feel music all aroung.
April 30 (Monday) – Once again angelic voices sound in the Cathedra. This time they come from Prague. The famous boys choir Boni Pueri is the national patrimony of the Czech Republic. They sing Mozart, Handel, Dvořák, Zelenka, Smetana and other composers.
May 2 (Wednesday) – Organ masterpieces by J.S. Bach performed by the Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation Alexey Parshin.
May 6 (Sunday) – Organ and a violin duet from Poland.
May 9 (Wednesday) – Immortal melodies of Salzburg. Mozart’s works will be presented by young Russian performers.
May 11 (Friday) – Musical trip throughout the countries of Europe. The chief organist of the Warsaw Archdiocesan Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist Piotr Rachoń presents masterpieces of various epochs and countries to the Moscow audience.
May 13 (Sunday) – For the connoisseurs of the classical guitar: G.F. Telemann, J.S. Bach, A. Vivaldi, L. Boccherini, J. Clarke, V. Maslov.
May 16 (Wednesday) – Harp, organ and cello will introduce the audience into the wonderful world of romantic music written by great composers.
